A history of literature as seen through the lives and books of the world’s beloved American and British writers.
The new infographic from Playground Equipment puts together the facts about most famous writers since American Revolutionary War. The list is based on The Great American Read – a popular PBS ranking with America’s 100 most-loved books.
The author data bar includes the year of birth and death, and the date of the first release of the most prominent work. Authors’ lives are being put on eras they lived, including the most tumultuous events of the 19 and 20th century.
The timeline is a convenient and quick way to compare life achievements of the world’s most beloved authors. For instance, F. Scott Fitzgerald and Ernest Hemingway were roughly the same age and knew each other well.
