On September 8, 2015, to celebrate the International Literacy Day, the City of Wrocław has started the campaign Czytam Wrocław (I read in Wrocław) that encourages inhabitants to read more books.

On this day, if you read the book on the tram or bus in the Wrocław City area, you don’t have to show the ticket for inspection – the book is your ticket!
What’s more, instead of a penalty, the inspector will give you a lovely bookmark, specially designed for “Czytam Wrocław” project.
The action in the public transport marks the beginning of a long-term campaign that will promote reading books among the citizens of Wrocław.
On an official site of the City of Wrocław we read:
We want to create fashion for reading books in public places, and promote the books read by our inhabitants.
The City of Wrocław encourages users to take part in the action by sharing photos of what and where they read.
You can find all the entries on Instagram, Twitter and Facebooks. They are marked with the hashtag #czytamwroclaw. We’ve embedded our favorites below.
