The 8th generation Amazon Fire HD 8 tablet was announced on September 6, 2018.

Most of the features are the same as the previous model: the 1280 × 800 px HD display, Quad-Core 1.3 GHz processor, and two storage variants (16 and 32 GB).
There are, however, three improvements that some users were impatiently waiting for. First of all, the new tablet is capable of handling 400 GB microSD cards (it was 256 GB in the 7th generation Fire HD).
There is a better front camera. Now chances are much bigger you will recognize yourself on your selfie photos. Instead of the 0.3 MP camera (2017 release), you get 2 MP.
And finally, there is natively built-in hands-free Alexa that will let you use the Fire the same way as Echo Show smart speaker. You will not only hear Alexa’s answers but also see visual messages.
