Three easy ways to recycle your old books (and why you should)

|

Recycling books helps reduce our environmental impact by reducing the demand for new trees to be cut down for paper production.

Did you know that if we just recycled all the printed newspapers in the world, we could save 250,000,000 trees from being cut down each year?

There is no point in keeping the books that or your family are not going to read again. Instead, think of how to transfer the knowledge and pleasure of reading books to others.

A handy chart from the Green Citizen blog shows three easy and practical ways to recycle old paper books. And it’s not about putting the books into the paper recycling bin.

You can donate your old or unused books (for instance to your local community or a non-profit organization). You can trade your books. And finally, you can sell your old books to someone who may need them much more than you.

Click on the chart to see it in full resolution.
