To celebrate a first anniversary of ebook subscription service (launched on October 1, 2013), Scribd has created a detailed “Year in Review” infographic.

The most interesting part describes reading habits of ebook subscribers.

First learning is the performance of non-fiction books. Two categories, mind & spirit, and business, are among most frequently opened books – but users simply don’t finish them.

Fiction and YA books were somewhere down the list of most opened categories, and they ended up in top 3 of finished.

Romance seems to live its own life. It’s on top of opened and finished books. What’s more, romance novels are among most bookmarked titles.

Although dropping in the middle, users are determined to read the self-improvement books. It’s clearly indicated by how well mind & spirit books perform in most highlighted categories.

An anecdotal explanation of the mystery of non-fiction is the most highlighted book: Wine All-in-one for Dummies. The users are eager to read it, but can’t finish, as they get too drunk.
