One of the things avid readers love about the 4th-generation Kindle Paperwhite is that if you buy it by the end of January 2019, you can enjoy Kindle Unlimited digital subscription for six months without paying a penny for it.
The best thing about this limited time offer is that not only new but also current Kindle Unlimited subscribers can take advantage of the deal.
After redeeming the offer, the subscribers will simply not be charged for six months. Automatic renewals will be temporarily suspended for the duration of the promotional period.
If you are subscribed to one of Kindle Unlimited pre-paid plans (no matter whether it’s 6, 12, or 24-month subscription), the free plan will start when your current prepaid plan ends.
Adding Kindle Unlimited to your Kindle Paperwhite 4 is extremely simple.
How to enable free 6-month Kindle Unlimited plan on Kindle Paperwhite 4
1. Register your Paperwhite
After your Kindle Paperwhite arrives, make sure to register it with your Amazon credentials. To do that, go to the Home page, tap the Menu icon (three dots) in the top right corner, and then tap “Settings” (screenshot below, on the left).
Then tap “Settings” and fill the email address and password (screenshot below, on the right).
If you have multiple Amazon accounts, choose the one you want Kindle Unlimited to be attached to.
2. Wait for the email with activation link
Don’t do anything. Just wait for the email with a link to redeem the special offer.
The email subject should say: “Activate your Kindle Unlimited offer.”
The email should look like in the screenshot below. Click on the big yellow button at the bottom saying “Redeem Kindle Unlimited,” and follow the instructions.
3. Start enjoying Kindle Unlimited
The email subject should say: “You have officially started your Kindle Unlimited membership!”
In the body, you will read:
You’ve officially started your six months of Kindle Unlimited. Your membership will then continue at $9.99/month plus any applicable taxes until you cancel.
The email will also include the picture shown below, plus links to Kindle Unlimited catalog, and a brief list of benefits.
At the very bottom of the email, in small font, you will read:
Your Kindle Unlimited membership will auto-renew after six months, and you will be charged $9.99/month plus any applicable taxes until you cancel. You may cancel anytime by visiting Your Account and adjusting your subscription settings.
When you tap “Your Account,” you will be directed to “Manage your Kindle Unlimited Membership” section on Amazon website, where you will be able to see when you free Kindle Unlimited membership ends, manage borrowed books, or cancel the subscription

It’s important that you follow the steps shown above. If you join Kindle Unlimited via the sign-up page, you won’t take advantage of the Kindle Paperwhite + Kindle Unlimited bundle.
You should redeem the Kindle Unlimited offer by 11:59 pm Pacific Time, on January 31, 2019. You should order the Paperwhite a few days earlier, to make sure you’ll have it by that day.
You can redeem the Kindle Unlimited offer only once with one Amazon account. Each link is for one-time use only.
