Amazon has not revealed Valentine’s Day 2019 deals yet, but if you want to buy a gift now, the 8th-generation Kindle is the best choice.

Currently, you can get Kindle 8 bundled with a free 3-month Kindle Unlimited subscription. Having in mind that the monthly Kindle Unlimited fee is $9.99, you will save $29.97.
The new buying option is similar to the newest Kindle Paperwhite 4 launch offer. The Kindle 8 & Kindle Unlimited bundle appeared at the beginning of December. It must be popular if Amazon keeps it for the third month already.
When buying the basic Kindle, you can choose the three options:
- color – white or black,
- special offers – with or without,
- Kindle Unlimited – with or without free 3-month subscription.
The version with the free 3-month Kindle Unlimited membership costs the same as the one without it. It’s $79.99 (the variant with ads) or $99.99 (the variant without ads).
To receive your 3 months of Kindle Unlimited free of charge:
- Add a Kindle with 3-month Kindle Unlimited option to your cart and complete the purchase.
- Your 3-month Kindle Unlimited membership will start immediately once your order has been successfully placed.
The subscription starts ticking before you actually receive the Kindle. However, you can start using Kindle Unlimited on a Kindle app on your smartphone or tablet.
What you have to keep in mind is that Kindle Unlimited subscription will automatically renew – and you will be charged immediately – three months after the day of the Kindle purchase.
However, you can cancel the membership any time. If you do it during the free 3-month plan, your subscription remains active till the end of it. The only difference is that you won’t be automatically charged for the first month of paid subscription.

If Amazon is going to use the same deal policy as with Kindle Paperwhite 4, as long as Kindle 8 comes bundled with a free Kindle Unlimited plan, you won’t be able to buy it at a reduced price.
