Amazon Fire HD 10 Kids Edition was announced a few days ago, and will start shipping on July 11, 2018, just before this year’s Prime Day.

Although the new variant of the largest Amazon Fire tablet is still in the pre-order phase, you can already get it at a reduced price, if you decide to enter a limited-time “buy-two” offer.
You can save $100 when you buy two Amazon Fire HD 10 Kids Edition tablets. The regular price is $199.99, so if you bought two pieces without the deal, you would pay $399.98. The deal price is set at $299.98, which means you save $100 on the transaction. It equals a saving of 25% per each tablet.
Just like kid-proof editions of Fire 7 and Fire HD 8, the newly-released variant is addressed to parents who want to have peace of mind while their children are using the tablet.
The Kids Edition includes:
- the Fire HD 10 tablet – software is modified to make the tablet more kid-friendly. The device includes one year of FreeTime Unlimited, which gives your kids unlimited and free access to over 15,000 popular apps and games, videos, and books. You will also find in the Settings advanced parental controls that you can use to set usage limits, content access, and educational goals,
- 2-year worry-free guarantee – the regular version of Fire HD 10 does not have it. The guarantee means that if the tablet breaks, you can return it and Amazon will replace it for free without asking any questions,
- a heavy-duty kid-friendly case – it’s designed to be durable and lightweight, perfectly fits in children’s hands, and effectively protects against bumps, drops, and “the typical mayhem caused by kids at play.”
When you enter the offer, you will be able to select one of three color combinations designed to differentiate the tablets. You can choose from Blue/Pink, Blue/Yellow, and Pink/Yellow.
Amazon claims that Fire HD 10 Kids Edition “is not a toy.” It features the 10.1-inch Full HD 1080p display offering 1920 × 1200 resolution. You can pick up either 32 or 64 GB of storage capacity. However, only the smaller version is available in the current deal.
What you need to know is that, compared to the regular version, the Kids Edition doesn’t come with hands-free Alexa, something that makes the Fire behave exactly like Echo Show smart speaker with the touchscreen display.
