More and more students and pupils around the world are using artificial intelligence to cheat or write their papers.
Recently, one Uppsala University student received a written warning from the Disciplinary Board after admitting to cheating with ChatGPT.
As the university reported in a statement, the student had used “unauthorized help” to complete a few tasks on an exam.
The student admitted that the written tasks had been solved thanks to the ChatGPT after he was confronted with suspicion of cheating.
The board chose to issue only a warning to the student, as the tasks in which he had used the chatbot constituted only a small part of the exam.
The student has the right to appeal the decision until February 23, 2023.
ChatGPT is an AI-powered chatbot engine, developed by OpenAI, that uses a generative pre-trained transformer (GPT) to generate natural-sounding conversations.
