Samsung has just announced its long-expected, Super AMOLED tablet – the Galaxy Tab S.
The flagship Samsung tablet is the thinnest and lightest the company made to date. It’s available in two sizes: 8.4″ and 10.5″. The smaller device is only 0.26″ thick (6.6 mm), and weights 10.37oz (293g).
In the official press release for Galaxy Tab S, Samsung claims the new tablet “will provide consumers with a visual and entertainment experience that brings colors to life, beautifully packaged in a sleek and ultra-portable mobile device.”
The infographic below shares most important facts about the top-shelf Samsung tablet. The display is really impressive: Super AMOLED, in WQXGA technology, 2560x1600px (16:10 ratio).
Two major advantages of the display are:
- it expresses more colors than ever before (reason: it delivers more than 90% of Adobe RGB color coverage),
- it provides deeper and more realistic images by making blacks darker and whites brighter (reason: it has a remarkable 100,000:1 contrast ratio).
Prices start at $399.99 for the 8.4-inch, 16GB, WiFi only model. You can read more details, and even pre-order one of the four versions on Samsung website.
Time will tell whether Samsung Galaxy Tab S will “turn up the color with the industry’s best mobile display”.
