Generations and their gadgets (infographic)
Do you like gadgets? Own one? Only one?
Compare your gadget preferences with an infographic from Online Marketing Trends, based on a report by Pew Internet.
People at different age prefer different devices. The younger you are the more gadgets you own – this assumption works for cellphones, laptops, iPods, gaming consoles – but not ereaders and tablets.
Most ereaders are owned by people between 47 and 56. Such result can be explained by the fact that ereader is a device dedicated to quiet and focused activity, which younger people don’t need that much as gaming or internet.
When it comes to tablets, the dominant age group is 35-46. The higher age is, in my opinion, a result of the high cost of tablets. If the devices were much cheaper they, would have been embraced much quicker by younger users.
