Apple publishing event – from rumors to Twitter reactions

As an avid ebook reader and self-publisher from Poland I was being constantly disappointed by Apple, when it comes to using their own ereading solutions. Therefore I was looking forward the new Apple event, this time focused specifically on digital publishing.

By organizing such an event, Apple sent a message to the world: “this time we are serious about digital reading and education”.

Two major tools were announced:
- to read interactive textbooks – a new 2.0 version of Apple’s ereading application, iBooks
- to create interactive textbooks – a Mac app called iBooks Author

Let’s see if they managed to meet their goals.
