iBooks has been updated – what’s new in version 1.5?

Apple’s native ereading iOS application, iBooks, has just been updated and is available for download from the AppStore.

If you stick to this app because of the slick interface and the convenience of use (the only ereading app with in-app purchase option), you won’t be disappointed.

The new update brings a night mode, which lets change the background to black and typeface to white. Thanks to that, reading in the dark won’t cause that much eye strain. By the way, it’s strange that Apple waited so long to add this feature.

New version of iBooks has also:
- full-screen layout (to read without distraction),
- a couple of new fonts (Athelas, Charter, Iowan, Seravek),
- a redesigned annotation palette, which makes it easier to choose a color for your highlighted text (see screenshot below).
