How-to: Get RSS and Email Alerts for Kindle Daily Deal

A couple of days ago Amazon introduced Kindle Daily Deal. Every day one Kindle book is offered at a discounted price. For new deals you can check the official page, follow Amazon Kindle on Twitter and Facebook or subscribe to Kindle Daily Post.

The only disadvantage is that you won’t get updates exclusively for Kindle Daily Deals.

After reading a great tip by Chris Walters from Booksprung, we played with some RSS tools, but eventually decided to set up a special feed at Ebook Friendly featuring Kindle Daily Deals. The biggest benefit is that you can get free updates powered by Feedburner – either by RSS or email.

In every update you’ll receive the information about the list price (yesterday’s price), the discount in dollars, how much you save (%), and the today’s discounted price. What’s important, opposite to the official page, you can also read the book’s description in your feed.

So far the savings ranged from 57% to as much as 88% – check the Kindle Daily Deals archive here. Among the featured books there were Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen and The Lincoln Lawyer by Michael Connelly. We’ve noticed that some of the titles were not available for non-US Kindle users. This is what needs to be kept in mind.

Our updates will appear shortly after the new book is published at the official page, that is around 12 AM, Pacific time. To make it even easier to keep up with new deals, we’ve also set up a short and memorable link http://amzn.to/kindeal and a Twitter tag #kindeal.

Both Kindle Store and our site are mobile friendly, so that you can easily access them not only from a computer or tablet but also from a smartphone. Make sure you won’t miss any deal on the book you’ve wanted to buy.
