Get Kindle Daily Deal via RSS or email
Updated on April 3, 2012
In late August 2011 Amazon introduced Kindle Daily Deal. Every day at least one Kindle book is offered at a discounted price. For new deals you can check the official page (we created a special short link: amzn.to/kindeal) or follow Amazon Kindle on Twitter and Facebook.
Amazon provides also Kindle Daily Deal email updates, but they are available only for US customers. The biggest problem, though, is that there is no official way to get notifications via RSS.
After reading a great tip by Chris Walters from Booksprung, we played with some RSS tools, but eventually decided to set up a special feed at Ebook Friendly exclusively devoted to Kindle Daily Deal. It’s powered by Feedburner, and you can subscribe either by email, or by RSS.

Every day we create a mirror post with the current Kindle Daily Deal. It gives you three major benefits: you’ll get a full book blurb, info on geo-restrictions, and you’ll be able to access it from a mobile phone.
Full book blurb
The official Kindle Daily Deal page gives only a line or two of the book’s description.
As I wrote some time ago, ebook daily deals are meant to bring traffic to the ebookstore, not to make money on featured books. You click to one book, then another book, then another – and finally you may end up buying a different item than a Kindle Daily Deal title.
In our daily updates you’ll receive the information about the list price (yesterday’s price), the discount in dollars, how much you save (%), and the today’s discounted price. What’s important, you can also read the book’s full description delivered by author/publisher.
Benefit: you don’t have to visit Kindle Store to learn what the book is about.
Information about geo-restrictions
In most cases Kindle Daily Deal books are available for users from outside US – and they don’t pay the usual international fee. Some books are geo-restricted, though.
There are two kinds of limitations:
1. The title is not available abroad. You’ll see the information that the book in unavailable in your country or that “pricing information is unavailable”.
2. The title is available abroad, but with a regular price. On a book page you will be able to buy the title with 1-Click, but every time double-check the price as it may be a regular one.
On top of our every post we give a short information about the international availability. We check KDD page while being logged in from Europe, and it’s usually enough to learn whether the book is available for foreign users and whether it has a discounted price.
Benefit: don’t spend extra time to learn if you can benefit from a deal.
Access from a mobile phone
Amazon is very well designed for viewing in mobile phone’s browser. However, the official page of Kindle Daily Deal is not optimized for small screens – and that means a long loading time and the awkward regular layout displayed.
Our site is mobile friendly. If you use an RSS or Twitter or Facebook app on your smartphone, you’ll be redirected to our mobile interface, and from here to the book’s page in Kindle Store – which is already optimized for mobile screens.
Benefit: you won’t miss a chance to buy Kindle Daily Deal even if you don’t have access to the computer.

Each post in a feed includes also quick links to daily deals in Kindle Store UK and Kindle Store Germany plus other US deals to consider: Kindle Books for $ 3.99 or Less and Limited-time Offers.
