Stephen King’s “Riding the Bullet” famous novella from 2000 is still available on the web – for free
… and it’s not coming from piracy sites.
You can download a book from an Adobe page, which was designed to be used to test Acrobat products in web browsers.
Riding the Bullet was a big ebook story of 2000. It was released in on March as the world’s first mass-market electronic book. During the first 24 hours it was downloaded more than 400,000 times.
Initially the ebook was offered at $2.50 by SoftLock and Simon & Schuster, but Amazon and Barnes&Noble were giving it for free. Right now it costs $5.97 at Kindle Store.
