How to quickly access Kindle Store from a mobile phone

If you own a mobile phone with an operating system, like iOS, Android, BlackBerry or Windows Phone 7, you may like this easy tip.

1. Open Kindle Store site in your phone’s browser

You can type http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/kindle/storefront or amzn.to/kinmobile-us (shortened with bit.ly). If you read this article on your mobile phone you can tap on any of those links and you’ll see Kindle Store’s homepage. You can also jump to a mobile version of Kindle Store localized in 5 other countries.

2. Bookmark the page

Use your browser’s functionality to add the page to bookmarks or to a home screen.

From now on you don’t have to open your Kindle app in order to browse ebooks from a store–in fact you’re redirected from the app to this very page you’ve just bookmarked. You can use your mobile phone as a tool to add books to your Kindle bookshelf, what is particularly useful if your Kindle ereader lacks 3G.

Great thing about Amazon is that its mobile site–the one which opens when you browse from a mobile device–is fast loading and very functional. In a home page of a Kindle Store you have easy access to categories, bestsellers and books recommended for you (when you’re logged in). Also on a front page there is a tab with Kindle ebooks with embedded multimedia, called “Kindle Editions with Audio/Video”–as you can easily open and play them in a Kindle application.

Currently Kindle apps are available for those mobile platforms: iOS (iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch), Android, BlackBerry, Windows Phone 7.
