What are enhanced ebooks and how to find them?
Enhanced ebooks are the ones which contain audio and video elements. You can play them right within the book, there is no need to switch applications.
Don’t worry, it doesn’t mean you get a film instead of a book. Multimedia objects are supplementary and their role is to amplify the book’s written message. A good example of such a book is Nixonland (watch a video).
Enhanced ebooks can be played on mobile devices – tablets or smartphones. Ereaders like Kindle or Nook can’t play video as their electronic ink screens refresh too slowly.
You can buy or download enhanced ebooks from application stores like AppStore for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. The books listed there are standalone applications. One of the most famous examples is The Death of Bunny Munro by Nick Cave.
You can also find enhanced ebooks in ebookstores: Kindle and iBookstore. In Kindle Store search for phrase “Kindle Edition with Audio/Video“.
Top 5 bestselling enhanced Kindle ebooks are listed below.

Decoded is a book like no other: a collection of lyrics and their meanings that together tell the story of a culture, an art form, a moment in history, and one of the most provocative and successful artists of our time.
Amazon Best Books of the Month, November 2010: Like its multi-hyphenate author, Jay-Z, Decoded is many things at once. At its core, Decoded is an eloquent and candid memoir detailing the story of a man who was born in a Brooklyn housing project, spent his teen years dealing drugs on the streets of Trenton, New Jersey, and grew up to be one of his generation’s most successful artists and businessmen. But Decoded is much more than a memoir: it is an intensely personal homage to hip-hop, as written by a man who so clearly adores the art form; it is a rare glimpse of the unexpectedly deep meanings behind the most recognizable rap lyrics of the last decade; and it is a truly moving collection of essays on topics ranging from Hurricane Katrina to the decline of the music industry. Unconventional type design, line drawings, and photographs visually emphasize the author’s message that rap is a form that transcends and defies easy categorization. There’s not much in the way of celebrity gossip here, but what we get, instead, is a gritty and enormously compelling look inside the cultural phenomenon of rap, from one of the men who contributed so much to its shape. –Juliet Disparte

Last Words
This ebook features added multimedia content: an interview with George Carlin’s daughter Kelly about life with her dad and a tribute video with interviews with Susie Essman, Michael Ian Black, Richard Belzer, George Wendt, and Jeffrey Ross, who talk about Carlin’s incredible ability to make people laugh. Last Words is pure, unapologetic, hilarious George Carlin. With 19 appearances on the Johnny Carson show, 13 HBO specials, 5 Grammys, a critical Supreme Court battle over censorship, and countless appearances on the international comedy circuit, George Carlin saw it all and made fun of most of it. Blending his signature acerbic humor with never before told stories from his own life, this book is part comedy routine, part memoir, and all original. His journey to stardom began in the rough and tumble neighborhoods of New York in the 1950′s, where class and culture wars planted the seeds for some of his earliest material including the infamous Seven Dirty Words sketch. Carlin describes his major influences as an up and coming comic, talking about the origins of some of his most famous stand up routines. The people he encountered on his rise to stardom reads like a Who’s Who of 1970′s celebrity, from Lenny Bruce who took him under his wing to Hugh Hefner who gave him his first big shot.
